The Willow Festival

The next Willow Festival will take place on 21st and 22nd of August 2010, 10 AM - 5 PM.

Every August, a willow festival is arranged by Moesgård Museum in collaboration with the Pileforening (The Willow Association).

The festival takes place in the open space by the stave church during the third weekend of August. Each year, The Willow Festival has a special theme.

Danish and international craftsmen demonstrate their skills at wickerwork, and during the festival, a special exhibition in the museum relates to this craft.

In an activity area on the festival grounds, visitors may try to make their own willow baskets. Baskets and other wickerwork items, as well as tools books, postcards, and willow branches for basket weaving are sold from the stalls. The café offers refreshments, but visitors may also bring their own picnic baskets.

Further information on The Willow Festival is available. Please contact The Willow Association on e-mail medlem@pileforeningen.dk
